ADC Viewer: Field selection

Each column (data field) in the catalog is listed with its name, minimum and maximum ranges (if applicable), units, and description. Click on the boxes at the left for each column you wish to view. Modify the ranges for any of the parameters if you wish to subset the catalog. If you wish to exclude blanks from selected columns then be sure to uncheck the corresponding Blanks box (although none appear in this example). If you want to view all columns in the table, then a fast way to do this is to use the Select All Fields button.

Here we chose to view columns of Abell number, RA, Dec, Mag10, Distance and Richness groups, and mean apparent population (galaxies/sq. deg.) to view. We also changed the maximum value of Distance group from 7 to 3, to limit our search to close-by clusters.

TO GO ON: Press below to take you to the catalog display.

EXAMPLE BELOW

7004A: Abell and Zwicky Clusters of Galaxies (Abell+ 1974)

File: abell.dat (Abell Clusters (Abell, 1958; Corwin, 1974))

Instructions:
  1. Select desired fields to view.
  2. If desired, modify ranges of selected fields (ranges of unselected fields are ignored).
Fields containing some blank values are indicated by a checkbox in the Blanks column. Click off the checkbox if you wish to exclude blank values from a selected field.
  3. Click Create Table to submit.
