HEASARC example: Data selection

Now we have left IMPReSS (at SSDOO) and gone to HEASARC, which holds the archives for most high energy astrophysics data sets.

Below, the page lists the ASCA observations available from HEASARC that fall within the region we requested in IMPReSS. IMPReSS showed three ASCA observations - here we see five, but note that two are scheduled and have not taken place, which are not kept in the IMPReSS database.

On this page, you select the observation(s) you are interested in and press Submit. You can choose specific data products sets, but we'll go with the default here.

The retrieval time for data products is dependent upon the number of entries selected from the above query. We recommend reducing the above list to a minimum before proceeding.
