ADCADC/CDS Standard Document for Catalog:
/external/combined/E5002/

The ADC has expanded its resources in order to better serve our users, we have developed a new category called "external" to complement our catalogs and journal table directories. You can access the data set described here through the URL:
http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/planets/catalog.html.

The following is an abbreviated "ReadMe" document that describes this external data set.

Description:
This catalog contains four tables describing (1) confirmed planets and/or
brown dwarfs, (2) confirmed pulsar planets, (3) unconfirmed, doubtful or
unpublished objects and protoplanetary disks, and (4) 21 stars where no
planets were found. The author states "As there is no clear consensus about
the definition criteria of planets, `super-planets' and brown dwarfs (mass,
formation, ...), this catalog includes only (with a few exceptions) objects
lighter than 13 times the mass of Jupiter (no deuterium burning)."

The tables include distances, stellar spectral types, visual magnitudes of
the stars, and orbital parameters for the planets and protoplanets. That
includes mass determinations, semi-major axes, orbital periods,
eccentricities, inclinations, and planetary radii. The objects are sorted
for each by increasing mass of the lightest planet in the system:
