II/101 Photoelectric Mags/Colors Visual Multiple Sys (Wallenquist 1981)
================================================================================
A Catalogue of Photoelectric Magnitudes and Colours of Visual Double and
Multiple Systems
    Wallenquist A.
    <Uppsala Astron. Obs. Rep. No. 22 (1981)>

ADC_Keywords: Photometry, UBV; Colors; Stars, double and multiple

Abstract:
   Magnitudes and colors have been measured for components in individual
   double and multiple systems by many observers. Lists containing these
   data are scattered across various publications. This catalog of the
   available observations was created for the guidance of those astronomers
   who intend to make photoelectric investigations of visual double and
   multiple systems.

Introduction:
   The UBV magnitudes and colors have been compiled mainly from lists by:
     Alexander           (1970)
     Andrews & Thackeray (1973)
     Burnichon & Garnier (1976)
     Eggen               (1963, 1965, 1966, 1968)
     Johnson             (1953)
     Landolt             (1968, 1969, 1971)
     Lutz                (1971)
     Lutz-Lutz           (1977)
     Tolbert             (1965)

   V magnitudes and (b-y) colors, reduced to the UBV system, are from:
     Lindroos            (1981)
     Mechler             (1976)
     Mechler & McGinnis  (1978)
     Oblak               (2978)
     Oblak & Chareton    (1980)

   The data for each system appears on more than one line.

   The data file contains the name of the system (upper line HD or BD, lower
     line NGCDS number), approximate RA and Dec (Epoch 2000), Components,
     mean V magnitude with number of observers, mean (B-V) color with number
     of observers, mean (U-B) color with number of observers, spectral type
     from HD if available or from observer if in parentheses, and the
     approximate value of the distance (apparent separation = Sep, orbital
     motions = orb) in arcsec, in most cases taken from the Index Catalogue
     of Visual Double Stars, or from observer.
