ADCADC/CDS Standard Document for Catalog:
/catalogs/1/1035/

The following is the "ReadMe" document that describes this ADC catalog.

This catalog does not currently have a complete standard document. The ADC data viewer will not work for catalogs without standard documents.

I/35 Second 9-Year Astrographic Cat Reference Stars 1900 (London 1909)
================================================================================
Second Nine-Year Catalog of Stars for 1900: Astrographic Reference Stars
    Royal Greenwich Obs.
    <London (1909)>
================================================================================
ADC_Keywords: Positional data ; Proper motions

Description:
   The positions in this catalog, for the equinox 1900.0, are derived
   from observations made with the Greenwich transit circle in the years
   1897 to 1905. The catalog is in two sections: 1541 Fundamental and
   Zodiacal Stars and 10127 Astrographic Reference Stars for the
   Greenwich section. The latter includes all stars down to 9.0 as given
   in the "Bonn Durchmusterung" for the zones +64 deg. to the pole. A few
   fainter stars have been added to the second section to ensure at least
   12 reference stars on each plate. Most proper motions in the catalog
   are from various other catalogs although some are derived from a
   comparison of these positions with those from earlier catalogs. Proper
   motions are included in the reduction of the positions in Part I but
   not for those in Part II. Each part includes, for each star, a running
   number; it is given separately for each zone in Part II. Also included
   are the right ascension and north polar distance, the number of the
   star in two other catalogs (including the NFK for the fundamental
   stars and the BD for the reference stars), a common name, the
   magnitude from other sources, mean date of the observations, number of
   observations, annual precession and secular variation based on the
   Struve-Peters constants, and annual proper motions.
