Abstract:
    This paper is partly a review of the history of the making of the
    Mount Wilson Catalogue of Photographic Magnitudes in Selected Areas
    1-139 (hereafter the MWC), begun in 1909 and completed in 1930, and it
    is partly the presentation of new photometric results concerning it.
    Photoelectric photometry of 435 stars in the 11 Selected Areas of SA
    28, 29, 45, 55, 57, 71, 82, 94, 106, 107, and 118 of the MWC is given.
    The data are used to derive magnitude corrections to the MWC for these
    areas. Ten of the areas are in the Galactic meridional plane (Galactic
    longitudes of 0{deg} and 180{deg}). These are the same areas used by
    Becker in his Basel program of star counts for the study of Galactic
    structure.

Note (1): Names nomenclature:
     SA 57 Becker NNN = Basel SA 57-NNN in Simbad
     SA 106 LNNNN = SA 106-NNNN in Simbad
     SA 118 MW NNN
Note (2): Data origin:
     P: data by Purgathofer (1969LowOB...7...98P)
        If P is placed next to a U-B value only, the B and V magnitudes are
        the values measured only in the Mount Wilson program alone.
     L: data by Landolt (1973, Cat. <VI/19>; 1983, Cat. <II/118>;
             1992, Cat. <II/183>)
Note (3): Where two numbers are given, the first refers to the B and V
          measurement and the second to the V-R measurement
   P2000: A finding chart for the faint stars listed in SA 57 measured
    with the Palomar 200 inch is given in Figure 2 of the paper. These are
    labeled with their Becker numbers which he assigned while measuring a
    series of 200 inch plates sent to him for the Basel program. These
    particular stars were measured photoelectrically in the present
    program to provide Basel with faint standards.
Note (4): Comments:
    P stands for Purgathofer (1969LowOB...7...98P)
    L stands for Landolt (1973, Cat. <VI/19>; 1983, Cat. <II/118>;
             1992, Cat. <II/183>)
