Description:
File table contains details of the new near-IR stellar library
observed to calibrate the Ca II triplet. It includes the indices CaT*,
CaT and PaT measured over the final spectra as well as their
corresponding errors. The Henry Draper Catalogue number, other names
(mainly HR and BD numbers), coordinates, spectral type, luminosity
class, apparent magnitude and atmospheric parameters (as derived in
Paper II; Cenarro et al., 2001MNRAS.326..981C) are also given.

Note (1): For some cluster stars, we list in this column their positions
in the HR diagram (SGB: subgiant branch; GB: giant branch; HB:
horizontal branch; AGB: asymptotic giant branch)

Note (2): References for atmospheric parameters:
  - For cluster stars (rows 1-156): Numerical codes 'ijk' indicate
     that Teff is from 'i', log(g) from 'j', and [Fe/H] from 'k'.
     Codes for 'i', 'j' and 'k' are:
1 - Derived from B-V versus Teff relations in Alonso,
            Arribas & Martinez-Roger (1996A&A...313..873A) and
            Alonso, Arribas & Martinez-Roger (1999A&AS..140..261A)
2 - Mean from B-V and V-K versus Teff relations in Alonso et al.
            (1996A&A...313..873A; 1999A&AS..140..261A)
       3 - Worthey et al. (1994, Cat. <J/ApJS/94/687>)
4 - Gorgas et al. (1993ApJS...86..153G), Worthey et al.
(1994, Cat. J/ApJS/94/687) and references therein
       5 - Carretta & Gratton (1997, Cat. <J/A+AS/121/95>)
       6 - Rutledge, Hesser & Stetson (1997PASP..109..907R)
       7 - Boesgaard & Friel (1990ApJ...351..467B)
       8 - Friel & Boesgaard (1992ApJ...387..170F)
       9 - Friel & Janes (1993A&A...267...75F)
       0 - Friel (1995ARA&A..33..381F)
  - For field stars (rows 157-706): Numerical codes 'ijk' indicate
that Teff is from RFi, log(g) from RFj, and [Fe/H] from RFk
(see Paper II, 2001MNRAS.326..981C). Also, 'ijk' = 'SKC' means
that Teff, log(g) and [Fe/H] are taken from Soubiran, Katz & Cayrel
     (1998, Cat. J/A+AS/133/221)
Note (3): Sources for [Ca/Fe] are the following:
      0 - Thevenin (1998, Cat. III/193)
      1 - Nissen & Schuster (1997, Cat. <J/A+A/326/751>)
      2 - Pilachowski, Sneden & Kraft (1996AJ....111.1689P)
      3 - Gratton & Sneden (1987A&A...178..179G)
Note (4): Indices definitions:
   CaT = Ca1 + Ca2 + Ca3
This index measures the P16, P15 and P13 lines falling in the
     Ca1 (8484.0-8513.0){AA}, Ca2 (8522.0-8562.0){AA} and
     Ca3 (8642.0-8682.0){AA} bandpasses
   PaT = Pa1 + Pa2 + Pa3
This index measures the P17, P14 and P12 lines on which are centered
     Pa1 (8461.0-8474.0){AA}, Pa2 (8577.0-8619.0){AA} and
     Pa3 (8730.0-8772.0){AA} bandpasses
CaT*: new Ca triplet index, which expresses the strength of the
Ca II lines corrected from the contamination by Paschen lines.
   Cat* = CaT - 0.93PaT
Note (5): The index residuals are computed as the observed index minus the
index predicted by the fitting functions presented in Paper III
(Cenarro et al. 2001c, submitted to MNRAS)
Note (6): The codes for the libraries from which the stars (not the
observations) were taken are the following:
      L - Lick/IDS Library (Burstein et al. 1984ApJ...287..586B,
                            Faber et al. 1985ApJS...57..711F,
                            Burstein et al. 1986AJ.....91.1130B,
                            Gorgas et al. 1993ApJS...86..153G,
Worthey et al. 1994, Cat. <J/ApJS/94/687>)
      D - Diaz, Terlevich & Terlevich (1989MNRAS.239..325D)
J - Jones (1997, PhD thesis, Univ. of North Carolina, Chapel Hill)
      A - Andrillat, Jaschek & Jaschek (1995, Cat. III/183)
      W - Worthey G. (private communication)
      I - Idiart, Thevenin & de Freitas Pacheco (1997AJ....113.1066I)
      T - Thevenin (1998, Cat. <III/193>)
Note (7): Run number(s), according to Table 2 of the paper, in which the star
was observed. Number of repeated observations within each run is
     given in parenthesis
